Season 6, Episode 8
This episode marked the beginning of Willow's journey to villainy. After Buffy and Tara confront Willow about the harm her spells caused them, Willow decides to cast a more powerful spell that made everyone forget who they were. It's one of the funniest episodes of Buffy, but what it says about Willow is concerning.
While trying to get their memories back, the Scooby Gang has to face off against a demon loan shark, but he's just an obstacle. Willow is the problem. She is completely addicted to magic and refuses to take accountability for her actions. Instead, Willow's pursuit of a happy life comes at the expense of other people's free will.","

Cleveland has recently played their fair share of games against opponents who have elected to rest their star players. This time it was the Cavs who gave their star backcourt a rest against the Pistons.
Technically, each player was out with an injury. However, if you look at Cleveland's schedule this week, it isn't hard to read between the lines and see what was going on.
But the Cavs were able to come away with a dominant 113-85 win over Detoirt thanks to a fantastic showing from Cleveland's reserves.
The game was truly never that close.
The Cavs came out and outscored the Pistons 32-14 in the first quarter alone and they outscored them 37-17 in the fourth. Detroit did make it a little bit more interesting in the middle quarters and was able to get within six points. However, one more run by Cleveland officially put the game out of reach.
Cleveland focused their offensive attack in the paint early on in the game, especially with them missing their backcourt. Evan Mobley finished with 19 points and Jarrett Allen dropped 20 in the win.
Detroit had no answer for these two and the Cavs ended up outscoring the Pistons 70-32 in the paint.","

The administration, in a plan released Tuesday, is also seeking to increase healthy eating and physical activity so that fewer people are afflicted with diabetes, obesity, hypertension and other diet-related diseases.

Biden is hosting a conference this week on hunger, nutrition and health, the first by the White House since 1969.

It led to a greatly expanded food stamps program and gave rise to the Women, Infants and Children program, which serves half the babies born in the U.S. by providing women with parenting advice, breastfeeding support and food assistance.
Over the years, cuts to federal programs coupled with stigmas over welfare and big changes to how food and farming systems are run have prompted declines in access to food.","

Beaten finalists in the 2020 and 21 deciders, Fr O’Neill’s have several ghosts to lay to rest in the decider against Courcey Rovers, a side they had seven to spare over when they crossed paths in Group B last month.
Fr O’Neills’ latest semi-final victory was attributable to a fourth quarter power surge that saw them hit 1-4 without reply between the 49th and 54th minute to pull 1-19 to 0-14 clear.
Right before this decisive and winning burst, William Finnegan (0-2, one free) and Shane O’Connor had thrown over three on the trot for Bride Rovers to close the deficit to the minimum. It was the closest they had come of their opponents since the end of the first half, but they were given no time to fashion an equaliser as Fr O’Neill’s rocked them back on their heels with a 1-4 knockout blow.
The goal, which arrived on 49 minutes, was finished by Billy Dunne - his fifth of the championship - after a superb through ball by Cillian Broderick.

He also asserted that international financial institutions and multilateral banks must remove the barriers that prevent developing countries from accessing the financing they need.
""We need an effective global debt relief mechanism. Many African countries are in urgent need of such a mechanism,"" added Guterres.
The UN chief has also stressed the need to combat the climate emergency, which is causing disasters such as droughts, hurricanes and flash floods.
""For many Africans, climate change is not a distant threat, but a daily reality,"" Guterres reiterated, recalling that the continent is suffering the consequences of rising temperatures despite the fact that Africa hardly contributes to global greenhouse gas emissions.

Aguilar, 28, was originally drafted in the 31st round of the 2016 Major League Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. After six seasons in their farm system, he was released from the Brewers Double-A team, the Biloxi Sounds, and was signed to the Angels in December of 2021 on another Minor League deal.
He never saw time above Double-A, but after a string of injuries during the 2022 regular season, the Angels needed some reinforcements, which opened the door for Aguilar to make his Major League debut.
On Aug. 26 against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Angels called up Aguilar to spell Taylor Ward, who couldn’t travel with the team due to Canada’s rules regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
Because of Aguilar’s career .280 batting average with 15 home runs, 48 RBI, and a .944 on-base plus slugging in 271 minor league at-bats leading into his call-up, the Angels believed he was worthy of his first taste of MLB.

Ultimately, he said, it will contain no surprises. The concept of a ""just transition"" has existed for several decades, but it took on new meaning after the 2015 Paris climate agreement committed most of the world to transitioning to cleaner energy sources in a bid to slow climate change. The idea is that any efforts to adjust reliance on fossil fuels must ensure that people who work in energy industries can move to new sectors and will not be left out in the cold. The ""just transition"" debate exploded last month when Smith lambasted the federal government for a briefing document that listed the number of jobs that could be affected by the ongoing global transition away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy. Smith misread the total number of jobs in the affected sectors to mean the number of jobs the federal government expected would be lost, and pledged to ""fight this just transition idea"" with everything she had. A week later, the premier wrote to Trudeau warning him that the Ottawa-Alberta relationship was ""at a crossroads,"" and demanding that Alberta be included in all discussions on a ""just transition"" going forward. She also said the legislation shouldn't be labelled as a ""just transition"" bill, but one about ""sustainable jobs."" That request hit the federal government with interest and even amusement, since several federal ministers had already signalled their intention to use the term.""I think I've been pretty clear I don't like the term 'just transition,'"" Wilkinson said Wednesday.""I prefer 'sustainable jobs.' I think it speaks to a future where we're looking to build economic opportunity for all regions of this country, very much including Alberta and Saskatchewan."" Smith will be in Ottawa next week as part of a first ministers meeting on health care, but there is no sign she will get a one-on-one meeting with Trudeau on sustainable jobs. This plan worked out well, as the Wolfpack looked much improved in the pass game against UConn, a mix between the level of the opponent and the increased sharpness of the play.
We’re going to focus mostly on reviewing the downfield passes from this game. Let’s go to the video tape!
In the last few weeks, the defense has allowed the opposing offenses to make quick progress to open games before settling down. They did that again against UConn, allowing the Huskies to get two consecutive first downs before holding on a close fourth down QB sneak. But that drive was the most forward momentum UConn had in the game, as the defense quickly settled in and stifled them the rest of the way.
For example, later in the first quarter, the Huskies attempted an ill-advised wildcat maneuver, and the Pack sniffed it right out and stuffed it. It surely didn’t help that the center dropped a turd of a snap so the play never had a chance. I just like the swarm to the ball, as has been seen throughout the season to date. The Wolfpack came out with aggression, not letting this week’s opponent or the knowledge of next week’s opponent slow them down. This is not something that can be said about State teams in the past, so for that I am quite impressed. I love how Cyrus Fagan sees the gang tackle and breaks off his coverage to run into the scrum, while Payton Wilson is trying to rip the ball out. Just no mercy.

Until they met rival Lamar. The Lady Texans took the opening set to start the match, but Bellaire retaliated in dominant fashion in securing a 15-25, 25-23, 25-8, 25-17 victory at the Delmar Fieldhouse to remain undefeated in district play.
“Sometimes this happens,” said first year coach Melissa Martin to her team after dropping the first set. “This is where we decide if we want to fight and win or turn around and play our game, or are we going to fall apart since someone is giving us a challenge. They totally came back and fought to win the game.”
With the loss, Lamar ended the first half of district with a 3-3 record.
Both teams battled back and forth in the second set that had nine ties.
Tied at 22 in the second set, Bellaire (6-0) went on a 3-0 run to pull away from Lamar to even the sets. Bellaire went on a 7-1 run to start the third set and never looked back.
“I was glad that we had some challenges because the girls need that,” said Martin, who took over for former coach Nicole Blakeman. She retired last season after winning 700 games in her coaching career. “You’re not going to go into each match sweeping every team. I like how they battled back all across the board.”
Junior outside hitter Auma Odhiambo finished with 13 kills for Bellaire.
“She’s a great player,” said Martin of Odhiambo. “Like any player sometimes they can have a bad play but Auma doesn’t let that affect her and she comes right back. She’s positive and always looking from feedback from me or the other two coaches.”
Senior OH Paris Gilmore added 10 kills, senior OH Sveva Munneke had 14 kills and freshman OH Lucy Bannerman added nine kills.
Setters Tyiah Wheeler finished with 17 assists, and Amanda Roberts had 19 assists. Libero Sage Cannon had 10 digs, while Sophia Dewhurst had five digs and four aces.
“I think the girls are excited,” Martin said. “They work hard for me. I don’t think we had had one day of practice where they didn’t want to practice. They come in and work hard, and we are improving. The setters did their job of setting up the hitters. I like where we’re at right now. Can Texas finish the class of 2023 with the best player at one of the sport's most important positions?
Longtime college football recruiting expert Mike Farrell is predicting yes for Texas relative to the No. 1 tight end recruit, Duce Robinson.
""My prediction here is going to surprise a lot of people, but I really like Texas to grab Robinson,"" Farrell wrote Tuesday. ""He would be a great addition to this already stacked class that includes Arch Manning.""
Robinson has admitted the appeal to play alongside Manning, though most analyst view the race as one between initial favorite USC and emerging threat Georgia.
""You know, (Arch and I) just text about life about how we're doing, but, but every once in a while, you know, he'll, he'll just ask me where I'm at in the process,"" Robinson said last month. ""But we text consistently probably once or twice a week. Any time we're together, we really enjoy spending time with each other. I think it would be a lot of fun to catch passes from him.""
There is also the thought that Robinson could delay a final decision, perhaps beyond National Signing Day itself.

We've had shooters, rhythm games, and even trading card games—the latter of which has managed to spin off into its own permanent mode. This time, it's a fighting game. A beetle fighting game.
Geo husbando Arataki Itto is at the forefront of yet another event, with his love for beetles and beetle battles being turned into a special one-off mode. As always, HoYoverse isn't afraid of getting awfully wordy with its event names, with this one being called Almighty Arataki Extraordinary and Exhilarating Extreme Beetle Brawl. According to IGN, the mode will have the Traveler returning to Inazuma and finding the Arataki gang entrenched in beetle fights galore.
The mode looks similar to a 2D fighter, with the beetles having a lunging move and a backstep along with a stamina meter. The aim is to lunge at the enemy beetle enough times to deplete its health while keeping an eye on your stamina bar, retreating when needed to avoid damage and recover some endurance. It looks incredibly silly in a very Genshin way, and it's a nice way to further play into the joke around Arataki Itto's obsession with beetles and besting them in battle.
Your beetle also looks a lot more… beetle-ish than the opponent's far beefier stag, which will apparently give them the advantage when it comes to trading blows. It looks like a fun mode, and I really enjoy that HoYoverse uses these limited-time events to experiment with smaller, more niche game modes that don't always have a place in the wider game.
The Genshin Impact 3.4 update is set to release on January 18, kicking off with banners for Alhaitham and Xiao and the new Sumeru location Desert of Hadramaveth.","

Berwick is a genius when it comes to his craft and how incredibly lucky are we that he has bestowed his gift upon the city of York all these years and long may he continue.
I have always felt that at the very core of panto is family and Mr Kaler rounds up his entire panto family, a happy band of merriment and mirth for yet another rip roaring hilarious two-hour show.
Yes the gang are all back together and back on a York stage where they all belong - Berwick, Martin Barrass, Suzy Cooper, David Leonard, AJ Powell and Jake Lindsay who's first onstage appearances drew huge applause and cheers from their loyal and devoted audience.
Pantomonium reigns supreme among the fabulous musical production numbers complete with brand new ensemble members and little babbies & bairns.
So if you are looking for a little bit of happiness and a little bit of joy in these currently troubled times we now live in then look no further than York's Grand Opera House this panto season.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Berwick, Martin, Suzy, David, AJ & Jake are collectively a Christmas gift that just keeps on giving!

They also say the nurse shortage, a problem being seen across the nation, is part of a “manufactured” crisis that stems from corporate healthcare executives caring more about the bottom line than the health of their patients.
“We are seeing staffing that is not at the level that is safe for patients and for nurses,” said Jennifer Caldwell, among the roughly 35 who held signs and chanted on the sidewalk outside her workplace at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Referencing a nurse-to-patient ratio that has gotten “increasingly worse since 2020,” Caldwell, a nurse in the intensive care unit at Research for 5 years, said there need to be national standards set for hospitals. She added that workforce pressures created in the healthcare industry during the COVID-19 pandemic should no longer stand as an excuse for low staffing levels.

The Cavaliers are heading into the All-Star break on a hot streak of 7-1. From the outside, they've been pretty good at basketball, but that one loss shows where Cleveland stands in the Eastern Conference.
Wednesday night was the Cavs' final game before the long weekend and they suffered a brutal loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The final score ended up being 118-112 but the Cavs were down by 28 at one point.
I'll admit it, parts of this game were tough to watch.
In the end, Cleveland was outplayed, out-hustled, out-coached, out-manned, and was the inferior team on every level. Yes, they were able to cut it close at the end but even when it mattered the most they made costly mental errors that a more experienced Philadelphia team didn't make.
One of these errors was deciding to foul James Harden instead of trapping him like coach J.B. Bickerstaff was calling out. This foul put the game out of reach for the Cavs in the final two minutes.
Cleveland is also known for their defense which currently ranks second in the league. But that defense was nowhere to be found on Wednesday as they allowed the 76ers to shoot 48 percent from three and 50 percent from the floor.
This defense won't cut it in a long playoff series.
The Cavs' bench was also subpar compared to the 76ers. Cleveland was only able to get 12 points from their reserves, including five from Caris LeVert, three from Danny Green, two from Raul Neto, and two from Lamar Steven. On the other hand, Philadelphia's bench scored 30 points.","

Thanks to an underwhelming midterm for his party, the longtime GOP leader must unite a cantankerous bunch of House members to get enough votes to become Speaker. But in the first round of voting on Monday, he lost the votes of 19 Republicans, when he could afford to lose just four defectors. Through Thursday, he has lost the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh rounds of voting as well. Then there was finally some substantive movement towards McCarthy in the 12th and 13th rounds on Friday afternoon, but it still wasn’t enough to end the humiliation. With round 14 now underway, read on for live updates (with the most recent appearing first) on the chaos in the Capitol.
Round 15 begins
And the Republicans — including McCarthy — seem psyched.
Some House Republicans now appear to be chanting “one more time!”
What a photo
Now there’s a motion to adjourn until Monday
Doesn’t seem like anybody knows what’s going to happen next.
No dice, but plenty of drama
Gaetz votes “present.” McCarthy still doesn’t have the votes to be Speaker, and there will need to be a round 15. Meanwhile the C-SPAN cameras roll:
Gaetz is now the only remaining holdout — and potential kingmaker
Some mid-vote background drama
This round might finally be it?
It will take one rebel defection — or two more present votes — from Gaetz and Rosendale to make McCarthy speaker, since Biggs, Crane, and Good have already voted against him.
Gaetz seemed (maybe) ready to throw in the towel earlier
Here’s what the congressman, who has vowed never to vote for McCarthy, said to Fox News’ Sean Hannity ahead of the late-night vote:","

Edgardo Greco, 63, was found in Saint-Étienne in south-eastern France. In 2006, he was handed a life sentence by an Italian court for the murder of two brothers in Cosenza in southern Italy, and the attempted murder of another man, in 1991.
Greco was tracked down by an Italian police unit, that specialises in investigating organized crime. The unit uncovered his support network in an investigation, that has been running since 2019. The arrest proceeded without incident, the police report said.
The two murdered brothers were beaten to death in a fish shop. Their bodies were never found. The crimes date back to the early 1990s, when competing Italian criminal organizations engaged in a feud.
Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Piantedosi, welcomed the arrest, praising cooperation between the Italian and French authorities via Interpol.
“Arrests of dangerous fugitives are continuing,” he said, according to a statement from his ministry.
Last month, Italian police arrested Matteo Messina Denaro, head of the Sicilian Mafia, or Cosa Nostra, in Sicily. He had been on the run for 30 years.

Raitt’s victory—which came at the expense of pop titans like Beyoncé, Adele, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles—was one of the more notable upsets in recent Grammys history; even Raitt herself was stunned. “Just Like That’ wasn’t remotely in the zeitgeist this year. It has one-sixtieth the number of Spotify streams as the second -least streamed song in the category, DJ Khaled’s “GOD DID.” To many, its victory was a perfect example of the Grammys being out of touch.
That critique is partly true: the song absolutely benefited from older Grammy voters who look upon music industry changes with contempt and long for the good old days. But it also happens that “Just Like That” is a terrific, poignant song, written from a perspective that is all too often boxed out of the cultural spotlight.
A vote for a more personal approach to music
There are many systemic reasons why a path was cleared for Raitt to take home her unlikely trophy. First of all, Raitt is a music legend, deeply respected by her peers of all generations. She is a mean blues guitarist and a devastating writer of songs about breakups and hard times. Her influence is deeply felt through two of her younger Grammy winners: Brandy Carlile, who once said she tells herself to “be Bonnie” in tough situations; and Adele, who called Raitt’s song “I Can’t Make You Love Me” “perfect in every single way,” and said it was an outsized influence in the creation of her monumental album 21.","

“The MassGOP has retained former federal prosecutor Brian T. Kelly of Nixon Peabody LLP to serve as outside counsel. Attorney Kelly is working diligently to bring to a close several ongoing legal issues,” new party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale told the Herald.
At the end of January, Carnevale defeated two-term incumbent Jim Lyons to take the reins of a state party machine seemingly steered toward a cliff, with little money in the bank and nothing to show when asking for more.
It comes after Republicans did not do well during the last election cycle, losing the governor’s office, several state House seats and making no gains in the state Senate, among constitutional officers, or in the congressional delegation.
Hiring Kelly, Carnevale said, is the first step toward earning back the support of voters who picked Republicans like Bill Weld, Mitt Romney and Charlie Baker to lead remarkably independent Massachusetts.
“We recognize the Massachusetts Republican Party must get its own affairs in order before the party is able to win back the trust of the voters,” Carnevale said. “This work is well underway.”
Kelly, a former federal prosecutor with decades of experience tackling white-collar crimes, is perhaps best known as the man who put infamous Winter Hill Gang boss James “Whitey” Bulger away for life.
Lyons lost his job as a consequence of the elections and perhaps, in no small part, after he responded to the party’s losses in November with lawsuits and allegations of sabotage against fellow party insiders.
In the days ahead of his election loss, Lyons was reported to the Office of Campaign and Political Finance by the party treasurer, who alleged the former chairman had violated campaign laws by hiring a private investigator to look into now-Gov. Maura Healey and not reporting the spending.
That unreported expenditure, totaling just over $55,000, was just the tip of the iceberg, the Herald has learned.
“Vendor invoices presented to MassGOP total $602,151.93 to date which includes many unsubstantiated invoices that appear to not be the responsibility of the Party. Our legal counsel as well as our compliance firm are diligently reviewing these to better understand who authorized these payments and in what capacity they were acting,” the MassGOP wrote in a finance and audit update to be sent to the party committee and obtained by the Herald.
In addition to Kelly, the MassGOP has also hired an outside consultant to look at their books and see if anything else is awry.
“The party has also retained national treasury management and compliance firm Red Curve Solutions to review the finances of the MassGOP and to ensure full and complete transparency and compliance with federal and state regulations moving ahead,” the new chairwoman told the Herald.
The party may not owe as much as they are being billed, according to the audit update.
“Though the Chair does not believe we are liable for this total amount, it is important for the committee to be aware of the situation,” the report reads.
Once the correct amounts are figured out dozens of Republican candidates will need to update their own campaign filings, according to the report.
“Because these invoices were either reported incorrectly or not at all the MassGOP did not make candidates aware of their responsibility to report these as inkinds. Once MassGOP has reconciled its reporting with OCPF each candidate will also have to amend all relevant reports. The number of candidates effected appears to be at least thirty,” the audit report reads.","

The number of candidates effected appears to be at least thirty,” the audit report reads.
